Data protection

Statement drawn up under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, nLPD). It describes which data Palmer Tech collects on this website, for what purpose, for how long, and which rights you can exercise.

For any question about your data, write to this address. Palmer Tech has not appointed a representative in the European Union: the website is aimed first at clients established in Switzerland.

Data collected

Palmer Tech collects only what is needed to answer a request or to run the website.

Quote form

When you submit a plan through the contact form, we receive:

  • first name and last name
  • email address
  • phone number, if you provide one
  • type of work selected
  • project description
  • date and time of sending

This information is used only to answer the request. No resale, and no automatic newsletter signup.

Technical logs

The server (hosted in Switzerland at Infomaniak) records ordinary access logs: IP address, date, page requested, browser. They are used for security, incident diagnosis and the proper running of the website. They are not matched with the form to build a commercial profile.

Display preferences

The choice of light or dark theme is stored in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), not in a cookie. This preference stays on your device. Palmer Tech does not read it on the server.

User account

The showcase website does not require an account to request a quote. If a signed-in area is opened later, account data (identifier, encrypted password, profile) will be described here before any further collection.

Purposes and bases

Processing relies on the following bases, within the meaning of the FADP:

  • Pre-contractual steps: handling a quote request, setting a scope and a fixed price, and replying.
  • Performance of the contract: if a project is signed, following the relationship, invoicing and delivering.
  • Legitimate interest: securing the website, keeping proof of an exchange, improving the service without advertising profiling.
  • Legal obligation: accounting and tax retention of records once a contract is concluded.

Palmer Tech takes no automated decision that produces legal effects for you. No marketing profiling is carried out from this website.

Recipients

Only the following access the data:

  • authorised people at Palmer Tech (account lead, project lead) to handle the request
  • Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva), host of the website and the servers, as a processor
  • Google LLC (via Gmail / SMTP), to deliver quote emails to the mailbox

No file is sold, rented or exchanged for commercial purposes. A provider is involved only if needed for one of the purposes above, and only within what is asked of them.

Transfers outside Switzerland

The website is hosted in Switzerland.

Messages sent from the form pass through Google servers (Gmail). Google is established in the United States. This transfer outside Switzerland (and outside the EEA) relies on standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, on Google’s participation in the EU-US data privacy framework. The content of the message (identity, project, phone) may therefore be processed by Google for the time of delivery and mailbox storage.

Retention periods

  • Request with no follow-up: exchanges are kept for at most 24 months, long enough to reply and document the relationship, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Accepted quote / project: data needed for the contract and invoicing is kept for the life of the project, then for the Swiss legal period applicable to accounting records (in principle 10 years).
  • Server logs: the host’s usual technical period, limited to what security requires.
  • Browser theme: until you clear your browser’s local storage.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not use advertising cookies and does not embed a third-party audience tool (no Google Analytics, no social-network pixel).

  • Technical cookies: a session cookie may be set only if you sign in to an authenticated area. The public quote form does not need one.
  • Local storage: remembering the light / dark theme on your device.

The GetTerms banner asks for consent before any non-essential storage. You can change your choices at any time via the "Cookie preferences" button at the bottom of each page.

Your rights

Under the FADP, you may, within the limits set by law:

  • obtain confirmation that processing concerning you is taking place, and access it
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • request the deletion of data when processing is no longer justified
  • request the return or transmission of your data in a common format (right to portability, when the legal conditions are met)
  • object to processing based on a legitimate interest, for reasons related to your particular situation

To exercise these rights, write to and include something that lets us verify your identity. Palmer Tech replies within the time limits set by the FADP.

You can also lodge a report with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, edoeb.admin.ch.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS. Access to the servers and to email is limited to the people who need it. No measure is infallible: if an incident is likely to create a high risk for your rights, Palmer Tech will inform you and, where required, notify the FDPIC, in line with the FADP.

Updates

This statement may change if the website, the processors or the law change. The date at the top of the page is the one that applies. Earlier versions can be requested at the contact address.
